Hoyt A. "Tres" Childs, III, M.D. Radiation Oncology
Dr. Tres Childs feels oncology is one of the most exciting medical fields because of the tremendous strides being made in innovative technology and cancer treatments. Having completed his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, he was particularly drawn to radiation oncology because of the blend of technology and direct patient care that is unique to this practice. His greatest enjoyment, however, is providing personalized cancer care, as well as support, counseling and guidance to his patients and their families throughout the treatment process.
Dr. Tres Childs received his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine where he graduated with honors in Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society. He completed his internship at Baptist Medical Centers in Birmingham and continued his residency at the University of Alabama Hospitals Department of Radiation Oncology, where he served as Chief Resident for one year. During this time, Dr. Childs received the U.A.B. Award of Excellence for Exemplary Commitment to Caring, was the recipient of the ACRO Fellowship Grant Award, and served on the House Staff Council for Radiation Oncology. He then graduated from U.A.B. as a board-certified radiation oncologist.
Dr. Childs is extremely involved in the local community, serving on several boards, including Huntsville Hospital Foundation and the Jean Sheppard Foundation. He is also a member of the Medical Association for the State of Alabama, the Madison County Medical Society, the American Medical Association, the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the American College of Radiation Oncology, the Southern Medical Association, the American College of Radiology, and the American Brachytherapy Society. Dr. Childs lives in Huntsville with his wife and three daughters.
Noel C. Estopinal, M.D.
Radiation Oncologist
Dr. Noel Estopinal has practiced medicine in Huntsville since 1988. He completed his degree in Molecular Biology and Psychology from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Estopinal received his M.D. from LSU Medical School and completed his internship at LSU Charity Hospital and Residency at University of Texas. He is a Fellow in the American College of Radiation Oncology. Dr. Estopinal has been with The Center for Cancer Care since 2005. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Radiology, Louisiana Medical Society, American Society of Therapeutic Radiology & Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology and Medical Association State of Alabama. He is Past President of Alabama Chapter of The American College of Radiation Oncology as well as Medical Representative for the Huntsville Hospital Foundation Board of Directors. Dr. Estopinal has also served on the Library and Botanical Gardens Board of Directors.
He and his wife Betsy have four daughters.
Elizabeth Falkenberg, M.D.
Radiation Oncologist
Dr. Beth Falkenberg is a board certified Radiation Oncologist. She is a native of Huntsville and joined The Center for Cancer Care in 2005. Completing her undergraduate degree magna cum laude in Biochemistry at Auburn University, she then received her M.D. from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. Following medical school, her internship year was completed at Baptist Medical Centers in Birmingham, AL, and her residency training in Radiation Oncology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Falkenberg was involved in research using brachytherapy for gynecologic malignancies and Gamma Knife treatment of malignant metastatic brain tumors while at UAB, authoring several research publications.
Dr. Falkenberg is a member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology, the Medical Association of the State of Alabama, the American College of Radiology, and the Madison County Medical Society. She serves as the current President of the Alabama Society of Radiation Oncologists.
She believes that a multidisciplinary approach and individualized cancer care are important for each patient. Dr. Falkenberg is committed to providing education, technologically advanced treatment, and comprehensive care to her patients. Her special interests include breast cancer and colorectal cancer, though she treats all types of adult cancers. She is active in community awareness and cancer education for patients, nurses, and other health care providers with numerous speaking engagements throughout the year. Dr. Falkenberg lives in Huntsville with her husband, Mark, and their three children, Zoe, Luke, and Hope.
Harry James McCarty III, M.D.
Radiation Oncologist
Dr. Harry James McCarty joined The Center for Cancer Care in July 2007. He completed his undergraduate degree at Auburn University and his M.D. from University of Alabama School of Medicine, Birmingham, Alabama.
Dr. McCarty completed his internship and residency at The University of Alabama, Birmingham.
Dr. McCarty and his wife Holly have two sons.
Gary Adams, M.D.
Dr. Gary Adams has practiced medicine in Huntsville for nineteen years. He completed his B.S. in Chemistry from Jacksonville State University. Dr. Adams graduated from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 1993.
Dr. Adams completed his M.D. from University of Alabama in Birmingham and residency in Family Practice at Huntsville Hospital. Dr. Adams has been with The Center for Cancer Care for the past eight years. He and his wife, Dr. Kathy Huston Adams, have two sons.
Amy Stucky, M.D.
Dr. Amy Stucky is a native of Huntsville and has been with The Center for Cancer Care since 2007. Dr. Stucky completed her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at Auburn University.
She received her M.D. and internship training at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, Birmingham, Alabama. She completed her residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham Regional Campus in Huntsville, Alabama.
Dr. Stucky was awarded a post-graduate breast cancer research fellowship at the Hamon Center for Therapeutic Oncology, and has served on the faculty of University of Alabama, Division of Family Medicine.
She and her husband Fred have three children.
